FAST’s 2023-24 magazine

On June 1st, FAST released our annual magazine at our fashion runway! This 170-page magazine is the work of 100+ contributors from 30+ photoshoots and 15 journal articles, compiled and designed by a team of 11 graphic designers. It was truly an honor to direct this incredible team to create this magazine, especially as a newly recruited director who had just joined the club this school year.

During the process, my team and I taught ourselves how to properly use Adobe Indesign while complying to industry standards. It was a HUGE challenge for me since this was my first time working on such a massive magazine, let alone directing one, I definitely couldn’t have done it without my team– especially Theo Youngers (who had already created a whopping seven 36-page magazines before even entering college. He’s also co-directing with me next year!) and Viviana Castillo (who is looking into designing graphics for the music industry) :)

The countless hours of work we put into this project was rewarded by an incredible amount of support and praise from countless people from both within and outside of FAST and even Rich, the owner of El Sereno Graphics, who printed our magazine and brought it to life. People had thanked us for completely changing FAST’s magazine from being a simple compilation of images and articles into an amalgamation of carefully designed and arranged spreads. Thanks to everyone, we quickly sold out and brought recognition to photographers, models, and stylists in our club!
